Zeche Bochum is a former coal mine located in Bochum, Germany. It was in operation from 1854 to 1973 and produced over 61 million tonnes of coal during its operational years. After the closure of the mine, the site was transformed into an event venue that hosts concerts, parties, and other cultural events. The venue has a maximum capacity of 4,000 people and has hosted popular bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Metallica. In addition to the concert hall, the mine complex contains other event spaces such as a bar and restaurant, and a museum that showcases the history of the mine and the mining industry in the Ruhr region.
